On March 9th, 2025, we pay tribute to Bob Riffle and his lasting impact on the world of racing. While we never had the privilege of meeting or personally knowing Bob, our research during the restoration of the Rod Shop Dodge Dart Sport provided us with insight into and admiration for his legacy. Bob was a distinguished drag racer, excelling both behind the wheel and under the hood as an engine builder. He achieved success as a two-time champion of the US Nationals and gained recognition for his work building Pro Stock engines. Bob later held the esteemed position of Head Engine Builder at Petty Enterprises from 1991 to 1994, contributing to the success of renowned drivers such as Mark Martin and Ted Musgrave at Roush Racing. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in crafting engines at Pro Motor, including the influential 1997 Brickyard 400 engine for Ricky Rudd. On this day, we offer our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Bob's family as we reflect on his remarkable contributions to the racing community.
